For many new parents, the idea of leaving the house with a newborn can feel like a lot. You’ve just had a baby, you’re settling into a new routine and sometimes the last thing you want to do is pack everything up and travel somewhere.

That’s why I offer at-home newborn photography in Bristol.

I can come to your home and photograph your baby in the environment where you’re already comfortable. There’s no need to worry about having a perfectly tidy house, your home doesn't need to look like a photoshoot location.

In fact, I love including elements of your home in your photographs. Your sofa, bedroom, nursery, favourite chair or even the window where you spend your mornings can become part of the story.

The focus is always on your baby and your connection as a family.

We can take our time, allow plenty of breaks for feeds and cuddles, and simply follow your baby's lead. If your little one needs settling, feeding or changing, that's completely fine. There is no pressure to rush.

A Relaxed Newborn Session in My Home Studio

If you'd rather come to me, I also offer newborn photography from my home studio in Bristol.

Because my studio is part of my home, it has a very different feel from a traditional photography studio. It’s warm, comfortable and relaxed, and we can use both the studio space and parts of my living space during your session.

This allows us to create a mixture of beautiful newborn portraits alongside more natural, lifestyle-inspired photographs.

Rather than every photograph feeling heavily posed, I want your gallery to tell the story of this little stage of your life.

There might be photographs of your baby peacefully sleeping, tiny hands wrapped around your finger, cuddles with Mum and Dad, feeding moments, or those beautiful little details that are so easy to forget as your baby grows.

You Don't Need To Know How To Pose

If you've never had professional photographs taken before, don't worry about knowing what to do.

I'll guide you throughout the session, but I don't want everything to feel overly posed or staged.

With newborn photography, some of the most beautiful photographs happen naturally, a parent looking down at their baby, a little smile, a cuddle on the sofa, or simply the way you hold your newborn close.

When Should You Book A Newborn Photoshoot?

I usually recommend booking your newborn photography session during pregnancy, ideally while you're in your second or third trimester. This allows us to reserve a space around your due date.

However, if your baby has already arrived, please don't worry. It is never necessarily too late to enquire about a newborn photoshoot.

Babies change incredibly quickly during those first few weeks, so whether your baby is a few days old or a little older, there are still so many beautiful moments to capture.

My sessions are designed to be relaxed rather than focused on achieving a particular "newborn pose", so we can create beautiful photographs at different stages.

Absolutely nothing to worry about! Newborn sessions are baby-led, so there is plenty of time for feeding, changing, settling and cuddling. There is no need to rush, and we simply work around what your baby needs on the day.

Do parents and siblings take part in the newborn photos?

Yes. While your baby will be the main focus, I love including parents and siblings too. We can capture individual photographs of your baby as well as natural family moments, cuddles and interactions.

What should we bring to a newborn photoshoot?

You don't need to bring lots with you. I recommend bringing anything your baby may need during the session, such as nappies, feeds, a dummy if they use one and a change of clothes. If there are any meaningful blankets, outfits or special items you'd like included, you're very welcome to bring those too.
