If you’ve never had professional headshots taken before, it’s completely normal to feel a little unsure about what to expect. My headshot photography sessions in Bristol are designed to feel relaxed, natural and fully guided from start to finish, so you don’t need to worry about knowing how to pose or what to do in front of the camera.
Before Your Session
Ahead of your shoot, I’ll usually ask what you need your headshots for, whether that’s LinkedIn, personal branding, acting, modelling, or business use. This helps me tailor the session to the style you want. I’ll also guide you on what to wear, but generally simple, well-fitted clothing in neutral colours works best, avoiding busy patterns or logos so the focus stays on you.

During the Shoot
My studio is based near Victoria Park in Bristol, and sessions typically begin with a relaxed introduction so you can settle in. I’ll guide you throughout the entire shoot, so there’s no need to worry about posing or expressions.
We’ll start with simple, natural shots and gradually build variety by changing angles, expressions, and poses. I’ll show you what works well as we go, so you can feel confident and see your progress during the session.
If you’re an actor or creative, we’ll also work through different “looks” so you have a range of expressions, from friendly and approachable to more serious or editorial styles. For business clients, we focus on professional, confident and natural portraits that still feel like you.
Studio and Outdoor Options
Most headshot sessions take place in my studio near Victoria Park, where we can control lighting and create clean, professional backgrounds. However, if you prefer a more natural or lifestyle feel, we can also take a short walk into Victoria Park for a mix of outdoor portraits.
This combination works especially well for personal branding and actor headshots, giving you a variety of images in one session.

After Your Session
After the shoot, I’ll carefully select and edit the best images before uploading them to a private online gallery. You’ll then be able to choose your favourites based on your package.
All images are professionally retouched while still keeping a natural look. I focus on enhancing rather than changing how you look, so your headshots feel authentic and true to you.

Final Thoughts
A professional headshot session doesn’t need to feel stressful or awkward. My goal is always to create a relaxed environment where you feel comfortable, confident and guided throughout, resulting in natural images you can use across your professional and creative platforms.
If you’re looking for professional headshots in Bristol, I’d love to help you create images that feel genuine and reflect who you are.
