From Christmas Gift to Summer Memories: A Bristol Couple’s Photography Session

There’s something really special about photographing a couple who are completely comfortable being themselves in front of the camera.

This lovely couple were gifted a photography voucher for Christmas, and a few months later, they decided to use it to create some memories together during the summer.

From the moment we started, it was clear that this session was going to be full of laughter. They spent so much of the shoot laughing, chatting and enjoying each other’s company, and that made my job as a photographer so much easier. Rather than focusing on the camera, they were simply focused on each other.

And honestly, that’s what I love most about couple photography.

It’s not always about perfectly posed photographs. Some of my favourite images are the ones where couples are laughing at something only they know, looking at each other, or simply enjoying being together. Those little moments often show the most genuine connection.

One of my favourite details from this session was her beautiful sunflowers, which matched her top perfectly. It was such a lovely summer detail and fitted the whole feel of the session so naturally. Bright, happy and full of personality.

The photographs really captured the love and friendship between them. You can see how comfortable they are together, and how much they genuinely enjoy one another’s company.

Not at all! You don't need any modelling experience. I’ll give you gentle direction throughout the session, while also encouraging you to interact naturally with each other. Some of the best photographs often come from the moments in between the poses.

Couple sessions can take place outdoors at a location around Bristol that suits you, whether that’s somewhere meaningful to you or simply a beautiful location for photographs. We can discuss the best location when booking.

What should we wear for our session?

I recommend wearing something you feel comfortable and confident in. Coordinating colours can work beautifully, but you don’t need to match exactly. Most importantly, choose outfits that feel like you, just like the couple in this session, whose bright sunflower detail worked perfectly with the summer setting.
